The Papists stiffly defend the ceremony of bowing at the name of Jesus, to countenance the adoration of their deified images, altars, and their host; teaching in their pulpits, that Christ himself on the cross bowed his head on the right side, to reverence his own name, which was written over it. {a} But name is here put for person, bowing of the knee for inward subjection.
