Pro_25:11 A word fitly spoken [is like] apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Ver. 11. A word fitly spoken.] Hebrew, Spoken upon his wheels - that is, rightly ordered and circumstantiated, spoken with a grace, and in due place. It is an excellent skill to be able to time a word, {Isa_50:4} to set it upon the wheels, as here. How "good" are such words! {Pro_15:23} how "forcible!" {Job_6:25} How pleasant! even "like apples of gold in pictures, or lattices of silver," not only precious for matter, {Ecc_12:10} but delectable for order, as gold put in a case of silver cut work.
