This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

Pro_27:8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so [is] a man that wandereth from his place.

Ver. 8. As a bird that wandereth from her nest.] Doth it of inconstancy, and oft meets with misery: whereas God had taken order that none should molest a bird upon her nest. {Deu_22:6-7}

So is a man that wandereth from his place.] A vagrant, an idleby, or a busybody, that keeps not his station, abides not in the calling wherein he was called, {1Co_7:20} exposed to misery and mischief, to ruth and ruin. {Num_16:32 2Sa_6:6-7 2Ch_26:19 Jon_1:1-17 Jdg_1:6 Psa_107:4} An honest man’s heart is the place where his calling is: such a one, when he is abroad, is like a fish in the air, whereinto if it leap for recreation or necessity, yet it soon returns to its own element.
