Pro_3:17 Her ways [are] ways of pleasantness, and all her paths [are] peace.
Ver. 17. Her ways are ways of pleasantness.] Such as were those of Adam before his fall, strewed with roses, paved with peace. Some degree of comfort follows every good action, as heat accompanies fire, as beams and influences issue from the sun. Which is so true, that very heathens, upon the discharge of a good conscience, have found comfort and peace answerable. This, saith one, is praemium ante praemium, a fore reward of well doing. "In doing thereof (not only for doing thereof) there is great reward." {Psa_19:11}
