15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.



Ver. 15. Cast out of his, mouth water] Those barbarous nations, Goths, Huns, Vandals, Lombards, others, stirred up by the devil to overrun the empire, and afflict the Church. Or else it may mean those pestilent and poisonous heresies, Arianism, and the rest, wherewith the Church was infested, according to that of Solomon, "The mouth of the wicked belcheth out evil things," Pro_15:2.
