6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.



Ver. 6. Not in the oldness of the letter] That is, not in that old kind of life that we lived under subjection to the law, to the irritation, co-action, and curse of it.
