2Th_3:4. The apostle has confidence in Christ that He will come to the assistance of the Thessalonians, promoting their faith and protecting them; but he is likewise confident in them, that they on their part will not fail in obedience to the apostle’s commands. Thus the apostle paves the way for a suitable transition to the exhortation in 2Th_3:6 ff.
