This Chapter Verse Commentaries:

Heb_11:22. The example of Joseph. Comp. Gen_1:24-25. Firm faith, that the promise already given to Abraham (Gen_15:13-16) should be fulfilled, was it that Joseph, when he was near to death, gave direction as to that which should be done with his bones at the time of the accomplishment of that promise.

τελευτῶν ] the same as ἀποθνήσκων , Heb_11:21; the choice of the expression was called forth by Gen_1:26 : καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν Ἰωσήφ .

περί ] in connection with μνημονεύειν , which as at Heb_11:15 signifies to make mention, stands instead of the bare genitive, after the analogy of μνᾶσθαι περί τινος . See Kühner, II. p. 186, Obs. 1.

ἔξοδος τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ ] the (future) departure of the children of Israel out of Egypt.

ἐμνημόνευσεν καὶ ἐνετείλατο ] Form of parallel arrangement; while, as regards the matter itself, the second member as an accessory point is subordinated to the first member as the main point.
