Heb_12:6. Παιδεύει ] him He chasteneth. So in the LXX. Cod. A, and fifteen other MSS. The remaining manuscripts of the LXX. have, what is probably the original reading: ἐλέγχει .
μαστιγοῖ δὲ πάντα υἱὸν ὃν παραδέχεται ] and scourges every son whom He receives (adopts as His). According to present punctuation, the words in Hebrew read: åÌëÀàÈá àÆúÎáÌÅï éÄøÀöÆä , and (He chastens) as a father the son in whom he delights. Instead of ëÌÀàÈá , the LXX., however, read ëÈàÅá (to cause pain).
