This form may easily, under the influence of the conception of our Lord’s prophetic character (comp. Mar_11:2 f.), have originated through the circumstance, that the two disciples met the servant of the
δεῖνα
, to whom Jesus sent them, in the street with a pitcher of water. Assuredly original, however, is the sending of only two disciples in Mark, whom thereupon Luk_22:8names.
