This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
Mat_22:4. Τὸ ἄριστον ] not equivalent to δεῖπνον (see Luk_14:12; Bornemann, ad Xen. Cyr. ii. 3. 21), nor a meal generally, but in the sense of breakfast, prandium (towards mid-day, Joseph. Antt. v. 4. 2), with which the series of meals connected with marriage was to begin.
ἡτοίμακα (see critical remarks): paratum habeo.
