Php_2:24. Καὶ αὐτός ] also myself personally. What Paul shall see, therefore, is, as he confidently trusts (not merely hopes), his liberation (comp. Php_1:25 f.); that it will make it possible for him to come soon.[139] The terminus a quo of the ταχέως is, as in Php_2:19, the then present time, although the sending of Timothy and his return (Php_2:19) are to precede his own coming. The ταχέως as a relative definition of the time is not opposed to this view. But that καὶ αὐτός includes also the case of his coming at the same time with Timothy (Hofmann), is, according to Php_2:19 ff., not to be assumed.
