This Chapter Verse Commentaries:
That is, we live, and order our conversations, not by sight, or any evidence of sense, but by faith, which is described by the apostle, Heb_11:1, to be the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We see nothing here by the eye of sense but mortality, corruption, and misery; but by faith we see another more excellent and glorious state, and we order our life according to our faith, and sight of things that are invisible: or sight here may be taken more strictly for the beatific vision prepared in heaven for the saints.
