Satan’s second appearance before God: Job’s character continuing the same, condemneth Satan, Job_2:1-3. Satan judgeth him not sufficiently tried, unless his body suffer; and so obtaineth leave to hurt his body, but not touch his life, Job_2:4-6. Job, smote with boils, scrapeth himself, and sitteth down in ashes, Job_2:7,8. His wife’s folly; he reproveth her, acknowledging God’s sovereignty and former mercies, Job_2:9,10. His three friends, and their sorrow, Job_2:11-13.
