The people complain of their brethren, by reason of their debts, mortgages, and bondage, Neh_5:1-5. Nehemiah rebuketh the usurers, and causeth them to make a covenant of restitution, Neh_5:6-13. He forbeareth his own allowance, and keepeth hospitality, Neh_5:14-17. The quantity of his preparations, and his prayer, Neh_5:18,19.
