CHOLER is used in Sir_31:20; Sir_37:30 in the sense of a disease, ‘perhaps cholera, diarrhœa’—Oxf. Eng. Dict. (RV [Note: Revised Version.] ‘colic’); and in Dan_8:7; Dan_11:11 in the sense of bitter anger. Both meanings are old, and belonged indeed to the Lat. cholera as early as the 3rd and 4th centuries.
