COMMENTARY (2Ch_13:22; 2Ch_24:27 RV [Note: Revised Version.] ).—The Heb. (midrash) has been adopted into English. But the Midrash is not exactly what we understand by a commentary; it is ‘an imaginative development of a thought or theme suggested by Scripture, especially a didactic or homiletic exposition, or an edifying religious story’ (Driver).
