GIBEA.—A grandson of Caleb (1Ch_2:49). The list of the descendants of Judah through Caleb given in 1Ch_2:42 ff. is geographical rather than genealogical, and comprises all the towns lying in the Negeb of Judah to the S. of Hebron. Gibea is probably only a variation in spelling of the more common Gibeah. See Gibeah, 1.
