HALAH.—One of the places to which Israelites were deported by the king of Assyria on the capture of Samaria (2Ki_17:6; 2Ki_18:11, 1Ch_5:26). It was situated in the region of Gozan (wh. see), but it has not yet been satisfactorily identified.
