HORESH.—The word hôresh means ‘wooded height’ in Isa_17:9, Eze_31:3, 2Ch_27:4, and this is probably its meaning in 1Sa_23:15 (cf. 1Sa_23:16; 1Sa_23:18), although some would make Horesh a proper name, as in RVm [Note: Revised Version margin.] .
