AMMIEL (‘kinsman is God’).—1. Son of Gemalli, and spy of the tribe of Dan (Num_13:12 (P [Note: Priestly Narrative.] )). 2. Father of Machir (2Sa_9:4 f., 2Sa_17:27). 3. The sixth son of Obed-edom, who with his family constituted one of the courses of doorkeepers in the time of David; to them was allotted charge of the S. gate (of the Temple) and the storehouse (1Ch_26:1-32, esp. 1Ch_26:5; 1Ch_26:15). 4.
