PALTITE, THE.—A native of Beth-pelet in the Negeb of Judah (Jos_15:27, Neh_11:26). To this town belonged Helez, one of David’s thirty heroes (2Sa_23:26). In the parallel lists (1Ch_11:27; 1Ch_27:10) he is described, probably incorrectly, as ‘the Pelonite.’
