TABOR.—1. A town in the tribe of Zebulun, given to Levites descended from Merari (1Ch_6:77). Its site is unknown. Perhaps it is to be identified with Chislothtabor in the same tribe (Jos_19:12). 2. A place near Ophrah (Jdg_8:18). 3. The Oak (AV [Note: Authorized Version.] ‘plain’) of Tabor was on the road from Ramah S. to Gibeah (1Sa_10:3). 4. See next article.
