TAPPUAH.—1. A ‘son’ of Hebron (1Ch_2:43). Probably the name is that of a town in the Shephçlah (Jos_15:34. It was probably to the N. of Wâdy es-Sunt, but the site has not been recovered. 2. See En-tappuah. 3. One of the towns W. of Jordan whose kings Joshua smote (Jos_12:17). It was perhaps the same place as No. 2 above; but this is by no means certain. See also Tiphsah and Tephon.
