WILL.—‘Will’ and ‘would’ are often independent verbs in AV [Note: Authorized Version.] , and being now merely auxiliaries, their force is liable to be missed by the English reader. Thus Mat_11:14 ‘if ye will receive it’ (RV [Note: Revised Version.] ‘if ye are willing to receive it’); Joh_1:43 ‘Jesus would go forth into Galilee’ (RV [Note: Revised Version.] ‘was minded to go forth’).
