ZABBAI.—1. One of the descendants of Bebai who had married a foreign wife (Ezr_10:28); called in 1Es_9:29 Jozabdus. 2. Father of Baruch who assisted in the re-building of the wall (Neh_3:20). The Kerç has, perhaps rightly, Zaccai, a name which occurs in Ezr_2:9 = Neh_7:14, and is the origin of the Zacchæus of 2Ma_10:19 and the NT.
