ZIPPOR.—Father of Balak (Num_22:3-4; Num_22:10; Num_22:16; Num_23:18, Jos_24:9, Jdg_11:25). The name, which doubtless in this case and in that of Zipporah has a totemistic significance, means ‘sparrow.’
