BEROTHAH, BEROTHAI.—A city of Syria, despoiled by David (2Sa_8:8), and named by Ezekiel as a limiting point in his ideal restoration of the kingdom (Eze_47:16). Ezekiel places it between Hamath and Damascus; the site is otherwise unknown. In 1Ch_18:8, which is parallel to 2Sa_8:8, for Berothai is substituted Cun. [Berothite in 1Ch_11:39 is obviously meant for Beerothite. See Beeroth].
