(Hebrews Kor-Ashan´ ëּåֹøàּòָùָׁï , smoking furnace; Sept. ÂáñáóÜí v. r. ÂùñáóÜí and even ÂçñóáâåÝ , i.e. Beer-sheba; Vulg. lacus Ashan; so that both appear to have read áּåֹøàּ ), one of the places (named between Hormah and Athach) in which "David and his men were wont to haunt," and to his I friends in which he sent presents of the plunder taken from the Amalekites who had robbed Ziklag (1Sa_30:30). The towns named in this catalogue are all south of Helron; and Chorashan, therefore, is probably identical with the simple ASHAN SEE ASHAN (q.v.) of Simeon (Jos_15:42; Jos_19:7).
