He is described as haying been of noble birth,-modest, gentle, eloquent, the father of the poor, the prop of his country, the restorer of churches, the redeemer of citizens. He died about the middle of the 6th century (Migne, Patrol. Lat. 88:160; Gall. Christ. 2:1450).
