( Êüâáëïé , rogues), in Greek mythology (similar to the German Koboldeny i.e., "goblins"), were small, tantalizing spirits, which played all manner of possible tricks. They were worshipped by the ancient Sarmatians, viz. the Borussi, Samogitse, Lithuanians, Livonians, etc. These spirits, they believed, dwelt in the most secret parts of their houses. The people presented to them the daintiest meats.
