He was converted at nineteen; emigrated to Canada in 1831; was a lay evangelist for six years; entered the ministry in 1837, retired in 1872, and died at his home at Scarborough, Ontario, May 27, 1879, aged seventy-one years. Mr. Coleman was a man of thorough consecration and of strong and constant piety. See Minutes of the Toronto Conference, 1879, page 15.
