a minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, son of Reverend Valentine Cook, was a native of Kentucky. He professed religion in boyhood, labored a number of years acceptably as local preacher, and in 1848 entered the Mississippi Conference. In 1865 he was transferred to the Rio Grande Conference. He died of yellow fever, July 24, 1867. Mr. Cook was a meek, spiritual Christian, a faithful, laborious pastor, and a successful preacher. See Minutes of Annual Conferences of the M.E.
