an English Baptist, minister, was born at Woolwich, Kent, in 1805, He was converted in his youth; studied at Bristol College in 1826; attended :the ministry of Rev. Robert. Hall, first settled at Weymouth; was called to London: in 1837; was many years secretary of the Baptist Hosea 6 me Missionary Society and of the Irish Missions, and in 1863 settled as pastor at Aberdeen, Scotland, where he died, May 11, 1866.
