with reference to the sword, is the rendering ,of ôֶּä , peh, mouth (like óôüìá , Luk_21:24; Heb_11:34), or fem. ôֵּéָä , peyah' (Jdg_3:16); also ôָּðַéí panim', face (Ecc_10:10); poet. öåּø , tsur, a rock, hence sharpness (Psa_89:43): elsewhere, in the sense of brink or margin; it corresponds to ùָׁôָä saphah', ip; and to ÷ָöָä atsah', ÷ָöֶä , kastek', or ÷öְåֶä kitsveh', extremity (Exo_28:7; Exo_39:4; Exo_13:20; Exo_21:5; Exo_36:12; Num_33:6; Num_33:37; Jos_13:27; Psa_39:4). To “set on edge" is an inaccurate rendering (Jer_31:29-30; Eze_18:2) of ÷ָäָä , kahah, to be blunt (as in Ecc_10:10). SEE SWORD.
