(otherwise called Egumonde, Egmund, or William of Stamford), an English prelate, was born at Egremont, Cumberland, in the 14th century. He journeyed towards the south, fixed himself at Stamford, became an Augustinian monk and doctor of divinity, went beyond the seas, was made by the pope episcopus Pissinensis, and held the suffraganship under Henry Beaufort, bishop of London.
