[many El'paal] (Hebrews Elpa'al,

, in pause

, God is his wages; Sept.

and

), the second named of the two sons of Shaharaim (a descendant of Benjamin residing in the region of Moab) by his wife Hushim, and progenitor of a numerous posterity (1Ch_8:11-12; 1Ch_8:18). B.C. cir. 1618. The Bene-Elpaal appear to have lived in the neighborhood of Lydda (Lod), and on the outposts of the Benjamite hills as far as Ajalon (8:12-18), near the Danite frontier.
