), "joint interest, or the having one common stock. The fellowship of the saints is twofold:
1. With God (1Jn_1:3; 1Co_1:9; 1 Corinthians 13:14);
2. With one another (1Jn_1:7). Fellowship with God consists in knowledge of his will (Job_22:21; Joh_17:3); agreement in design (Amo_3:2); mutual affection (Rom_8:38-39); enjoyment of his presence (Psa_4:6); conformity to his image (1Jn_2:6; 1Jn_1:6); participation of his felicity (1Jn_1:3-4; Eph_3:14-21; 2Co_13:14). Fellowship of the saints may be considered as a fellowship of duties (Rom_12:6; 1Co_12:1; 1Th_5:17-18; Jam_5:16); of ordinances (Heb_10:24; Act_2:46); of graces, love, joy, etc. (Heb_10:24; Mal_3:16; 2Co_8:4); of interest spiritual, and sometimes temporal (Rom_12:4; Rom_12:13; Heb_13:16); of sufferings (Rom_15:1-2; Gal_6:1-2; Rom_12:15); of eternal glory (Rev_7:9)."
