They were also occasionally employed as names of the Apostles' Creed,. perhaps because it was gathered entirely from Scripture; or else because it was used in reference to the learning of the Creed by the catechumens, just as the word ìÜèçìá , the lesso, was used to designate the Creed, because the catechumens were bound to commit it to memory. - Valesius, Not. in Socrat. 1:8; Bingham, Orig.
