(Heb. Chashum', çָùֻׁí , opulent; Sept. Á᾿óïýì , Á᾿óήì , ᾿Çóáìß , ᾿Ùóýì , ᾿ÇóÜì ), the name apparently of two or three men about the time of the Captivity.

1. An Israelite whose posterity (or rather,. perhaps, am place whose inhabitants), to the number of 223 males,. or 328 in all, returned from Babylon with Zerubbabel. (Ezr_2:19; Neh_7:22); some of whom afterwards. divorced their Gentile wives (Ezr_10:33). The associated names seem to indicate a locality in the northwestern part of the territory of Benjamin. 2. One of those who stood at Ezra's left hand while he was reading the law to the people (Neh_8:4); probably the same with one of the chief of the people who subscribed Nehemiah's covenant (Neh_10:18). B.C. cir. 410.
