Á᾿óáñóïõëÜ , Å᾿óåñóïõÜë and Á᾿óåñóùÜë ), a city on the southern border of Judah (Jos_15:28; Neh_11:26, where it is mentioned between Beth-palet and Beer-sheba), afterwards included in the territory of Simeon (Jos_19:3; 1Ch_4:28, where it is mentioned between Moladah and Balah); hence probably midway between the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean. SEE HAZERIM. Van de Velde, on his Map, conjectures the site to be that of the ruins Samweh, which he locates nearly half way between Beer-sheba and Moladah. But SEE SHEMA.
