He was deeply read in the Mystic divines, and was himself called “the Mystic doctor.” He died about 1760, leaving Theological Lectures at Westminster Abbey (Lond. 1749-61. 2 vols. 4to), containing an “interpretation of the New Testament” — Sermons (1770, 12mo): — Discourses (1793,2 vols. 8vo).
