This refers, in a general sense, to any aid which he, as perpetual High priest, extends to those who approach God confiding in him (Heb_4:16; Heb_7:25-27). He is also represented as offering up the prayers and praises of his people, which become acceptable to God through him (Heb_13:15; 1Pe_2:5; Rev_8:3). Of the intercession of Christ we may observe, that it is righteous, for it is founded upon justice and truth (Heb_7:26; 1Jn_3:5), compassionate (Heb_2:17; Heb_5:8), perpetual (Heb_7:25), and efficacious (1Jn_2:1).
