(Heb. Libni', ìáְðַé , white; Sept. Ëïâåíåß , Ëïâåíß ), the first-named of the two sons of Gershon, the son of Levi (Exo_6:17; Num_3:18; Num_3:21; 1Ch_6:17; comp. Num_26:58); elsewhere called LAADAN (1Ch_23:7; 1Ch_26:21). B.C. post. 1856. His son is called Jahath (1Ch_6:20; 1Ch_6:43), and his descendants were named LIBNITES (Num_3:21; Num_26:58). In 1Ch_6:29, by some error he is called the son of Mahli and the father of Shimei.
