Mons Amalech), a place near Pirathon, in the tribe of Ephraim (Jdg_12:15), apparently so called from some branch of that Canaanitish clan settled there (comp. Jdg_5:14, ùָׁøְùָׁí áִּòֲîָìֵ÷ îַðַּé àֶôְøִéַí , from Ephraim [came those] whose seat [was] by Amalek, A.V. "out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek"). SEE AMALEKITE.
