(Heb. Neriyah', ðֵøַéָּä , Jehovah is my lamp, or lamp of Jehovah, also [Jer_36:14; Jer_36:32; in the prolonged form Neriya'hu, ðֵøַéָּäéּ ; Sept. Íçñßáò [v.r. Íçñß in Jer_43:3]; Vulg: Nerias, but Neri in Jer_22:12), the son of Maaseiah, and father of Seraiah (Jer_51:59) and Baruch (Jer_32:12; Jer_32:16; Jer_36:4; Jer_36:8; Jer_36:14; Jer_36:32; Jer_43:3; Jer_43:6; Jer_45:1). He appears to be the same with NERI SEE NERI (q.v.) in our Lord's maternal ancestry (Luk_3:27-28; see Strong's Harmony and Expos. of the Gospels, page 17). B.C. cir. 620.
