ðְúִðְéָäåּ , 1Ch_25:12 ; 2Ch_17:8; Jer_36:14; Jer_40:8; Jer_41:9, given of Jehovah; Sept. Íáèáíßáò , v.r. in 2Ki_25:23 Ìáèèáíßáò ), the name of four Hebrews.

1. Third named of four sons of Asaph, who were appointed by order of David to minister in the Temple. He was chief of the fifth division of sacred musicians (1Ch_25:2; 1Ch_25:12). B.C. cir. 1015.

2. A Levite, one of those sent with "princes" and priests, on the accession of Jehoshaphat, to teach the law through the cities of Judah (2Ch_17:8). B.C. cir. 912.

3. Son of Shelamiah and father of Jehudi (q.v.) (Jer_36:14). B.C. cir. 638.

4. Son of Elishama (q.v.) of the royal family of Judah, and father of Ishmael (q.v.) who murdered Gedaliah (2Ki_25:23; 2Ki_25:25; Jer_40:8; Jer_40:14-15; Jer_41:1-2; Jer_41:6-7; Jer_41:9-12; Jer_41:15-16; Jer_41:18). B.C. cir. 620.
