a Sicilian -priest and geographer, was born Oct. 14, 1610. He became a great linguist, made himself beloved for his prudence and eloquence, was a long time maintained by Ferdinand Maximilian, margrave of Baden, and afterwards chaplain at St. Maria Maggiore in Rome.
