( ùָׂøָä , sarah) occurs but seldom in the Scriptures (1Ki_11:3; Lam_1:1; elsewhere “lady.” SEE SARAH ); but the persons to whom it alludes, the daughters of kings, are frequently mentioned, and often with some reference to the splendor of their apparel. Thus we read of Tamar's “garment of divers colors” (2Sa_13:18), and the dress of the Egyptian princess, the wife of Solomon, is described as “raiment of needlework,” and “clothing of wrought gold” (Psa_45:13-14).
