(Heb. Suir, ñåּø , reinoved, as in Isa_49:21; Sept. áἱ ὁäïß ; Vulg. Sur), the name of one of the gates of the Temple at Jerusalem (2Ki_23:6); called in the parallel passage (2Ch_23:5) “the gate of the foundation,” éְñåֹã (which is the preferable reading), being apparently that which led across to Zion by the causeway or bridge.
